Case 1:
This project is using the ultrasonic range sensor to detect the leading vehicle and measure the distance. The IR sensor use to detect line for leading vehicle. The LCD will display the distance in centimeter. There are three input used in this project which are IR sensor, ultrasonic sensor and LCD display input. For the mechanical part of the autonomous, the RC servo motor modified as output for microcontroller. The follower vehicle must maintain the distance between itself and the leading car in distance 30cm for the safe purpose mode. As the leading car increase it speed, the following car will also increase it speed as well but must maintain the minimum distance 30cm from the leading car.
Case 2:
This project mainly concerned on DC motor speed and distance control system by using microcontroller. The actual distance has been measured by ultrasonic sensor and feedback to microcontroller. The LCD will display the measured distance by PIC18F452. Microcontroller has been used as the controller to control DC motor speed and desired spacing between both vehicles. The controller will determine duty cycle of pulse-width- modulation (PWM) in microcontroller. Based on the data of distance calculation, PIC Microcontroller produces the intelligent control setting by giving 5V high bit of control signal to one of four condition lines. These four of control conditions include: speed up, speed down, speed remain and brake/stop, where each of control signal was proportional to the VCAS driving- model situations. The PWM signal has been sent to a motor driver (H- Bridge) to vary the voltage supply to the motor speed depending on the control condition.
